Michael J. Quigley, is a career naval officer and a veteran of the War in Iraq and the Global War on Terrorism. He first “met” Sherlock Holmes in 1979 when his grandmother gave him the two-volume ‘Annotated Sherlock Holmes’ by William Baring-Gould. Since then, he has been an active and passionate Holmesian.
In 2013, Quigley founded the Diogenes Club of Washington, DC and is a member of several scion societies, including: the Six Napoleons of Baltimore; the Red Circle of Washington, DC; Diogenes Club of Washington, DC; the Half-Pay Club of Washington; the Lavender Spats; the John H. Watson Society; and the Sherlock Holmes Society of London. He was invested in the Baker Street Irregulars in 2017 with the investiture of “A Large, Brass-Bound Safe.”
